Hammer of the Gods - Maintenance Mode Enabled

For thousands of years gods of various ancient cultures had roamed the earth, and amongst the humans. Then the angels, and demons appeared. From that point on there was no respect spared for the pagans. Not at all. This lack of respect festered like an open wound in a swamp. The power of the pagan gods decayed, and now they have only about half of their original strength. A far cry from what they used to be. However, the pagans had only been biding their time, and searching for a way to regain the respect that they so deserve. Now, it is the year 2011. The Smoking Mirror had come up with an idea for all of this, that's right, Tezcatlipoca, the Aztec god of temptation, along with Hel, the Norse queen of the underworld, mustered what power they had and resurrected a number of gods that had been previously been slaughtered but non other than Lucifer himself. Among them were the Norse god, Odin, along with a counsel of other pagan gods from other pantheons, have found something that would turn the tables in their favor. With what they had found, they could remain hidden and drain the powers from the angels, and demons alike. The angels in a fit of concern for what trouble that might be brewing, selected a handful of righteous, deceased people, and bestowed upon them the grace of angels, among them Jessica Moore, and Mary Winchester. In addition to this they have been bringing back numerous hunters to aid with the ever growing threat of the rogue pagans. Now, the pagans have become a threat. Hell is also up in arms over the threat of being destroyed, with the addition of keeping the angels at bay.To top this all off, there is a seeming rise in the sheer number of monsters on earth. This may be device of the pagans' making. Can earth be protected from such reckless behavior? Unbeknownst to the angels, the youngest of the four archangels, Gabriel has been working as a double agent. While he loves his siblings very much, he has had a certain heart for the pagans. The Trickster, took up his old alias as Loki once again, and works to aid the pagans from the shadows of course. Along with doing this he is doing his darndest to keep a weather eye on them for his brethren, and stay hidden while doing so. Gabriel is not alone in this feat. There are a few other angels also posing as pagan deities. As if the pagan gods weren't enough to deal with, Civil war is brewing in Heaven after the apocalypse was averted, and there are whispers going around that some of the angels are planning on freeing Michael and Lucifer to start it all over again. Sam Winchester and Adam Milligan, who had previously been locked in the cage together, have been retrieved by none other than Castiel, and a legion of his allies amongst the angels. The two are whole(Sam with his soul intact) and roaming the earth once again.
